Had to route the purfling channel by hand to make sure the sinker wouldn't tear up! Better safe than sorry!
But its coming along quite nicely!

What a beautiful guitar!

Hey, hairy stuff, routing by hand...

....I did it with my first..I have now acquired a laminate router just in case I don't want to do it a second time...

Peter.
That sinker redwood is fantastic! I love the darkness and the streaking.
You'll have to let us know how it sounds when you're finished.
Did you go thinner with the sinker?
I've heard it's a little heavier than normal redwood and can be used
slightly thinner.

Normally I don't do it by hand but in this case I had to. The sinker wood is too fragile to be routed with power tools as it tends to tear out! ( alot!)

Scored the top with the Gramil and finished up the job with a nice sharp chisel!
